crash Tuesday afternoon near Zionsville, police
confirmed.
The crash was reported just before 2 p.m. near
96th Street and Zionsville Road, officials with the
Zionsville Police Department said.
Police said a Ford Explorer lost its right rear wheel
due to lug nuts that weren't tightened, crossed the
center line and hit a Chevrolet Prizm head-on.
The two women in the Ford were pronounced
dead at the scene.
The identities of the victims were
not released, but the passenger was believed to be
in her 30s, officials said.
The driver of the Prizm was not hurt.
