Gunmen attack Borno village

Borno, Nigeria - Suspected members of the Boko Haram last night attacked Alau, village situated 15 kilometers away from Maiduguri along Bama road.

Credible sources said the attack occurred around 9pm yesterday.

"The gunmen were many and set dozens of houses ablaze.

The terrorists attacked the fishing community severally in the past.

We are not sure how many locals are affected by the latest attack,"
he said.

It is not yet clear if military operatives were deployed to repel the attack.

Meanwhile, sources said troops had exchanged gunfire with the insurgents in Gwoza and along
Maiduguri- Damboa road between Monday and
Tuesday.

Sources said both the military and the armed men suffered casualties
