9 terrorists killed in Algeria-Mali border

Algier, Algeria - Nine armed Islamists were killed by the Algerian armed forces on monday near the Malian border.

The terrorist group of nine died after a clash with the army in the Taoundert border area,
80km west of Tin Zaoutine in Tamanrasset province, the APS news agency quoted a ministry
statement as saying.


It was also reported that "large amount of ammunitions" were seized, RPG-7 rocket launcher technical equipment and eight automatic Kalashnikov-type rifles. The crackdown came after "effective use of information on suspicious movements of a terrorist
group," said the statement.
